On the message board on Gerry Seda's Like A Rolling Stone (LARS) website and under a thread titled, Response to Deb about the Independent on Sunday article (8th November 2005), Gerry wrote:-

"………….I want to say that he did not ask me to say this and I hope he will not be offended that I am but Trevor Hobley has gone way above and beyond the call of duty. He has spent every dime he had, sold his very impressive Beatles collection, etc, all to fund the forensics, the trips to interview people, the Aftermath magazine. It's easy for us to sit here and say way to go Trevor but what are we doing to support him in this? He's had to put the rest of the forensics testing on hold because of funds or lack thereof. Therefore I'd like to respectfully request that we all support the fan club at the very least. If we can, we could perhaps make a donation to help out. This man has gone light years beyond anything David Reynolds ever did. People donated hand over fist for that hideous statue fund as well as other things over the years and what is there really to show for it? Pretty much that hideous statue.

I think we all need to realize that if WE, the Brian Jones community and fans don't step up to the plate, no one else is going to. I don't think this chance is going to come around again, I really don't. By that I mean to be this close to actually having solid forensic evidence, witnesses who were never interviewed etc. The cops aren't going to do it and the Stones sure as hell aren't going to do it. WE need to do it.

There have been over 509,906 hits to the board since July 20, 2001. That's 324 a day on average and Voy predicts for this month alone an average of 15,757 hits. (These are all Voy counter figures. The one you see at the bottom of the posting box is actually for the website.) A lot of people read this board and lurk but don't post. That's a lot of people when you think about it for a message board for a guy who has been gone 36 years. If all or even most of those people pitched in, in whatever way they can, maybe it would make a difference. At least support the magazine so that it's self supporting and monies used for that can be redirected elsewhere to the investigation. I just feel that somehow, someway, we need to get involved and not put it all on Trevor. I know this sounds impassioned and it is, and it isn't my desire to offend anyone but we've come so far, let's not let the ball get dropped now for lack of funds. I know Trevor wants to see this through, so does Pat, so do I and I think most of you do. Let me know what you think guys."

The replies to Gerry's post generated a response that, to say the least, was astonishing and I subsequently wrote a reply entitled A Message From Trevor Hobley (13th November) and a further post on the 15th November under the thread Thanks…… All of the comments can be found by following this link http://www.voy.com/30551/ and scrolling down the page.

In essence, what Gerry's post generated was a show of support for the fan clubs activities from the contributors to her message board; activities ranging from the maintenance of this website, producing our well received fanzine AfterMath, the administration of the fan club and of course, the on-going investigation into Brian's death. Similarly, my recent letter to all fan club members with AfterMath # 7 generated many letters of support and it's with these offers of financial help that we've created this page on our website.

Offers have ranged from £5.00 to £100.00 and one UK fan club member, Ian Barnett (#1360) kindly gave his permission to reproduce his letter which echo's the sentiments of many of you. If you'd like to join Ian and follow his example then please let me know. Read Ian's letter.

Your donation can be made in a number of ways:-

1. The simplest and most economical way to make a donation is with your credit card, please complete and submit the PayPal form below. Understandably people are wary of using their credit cards on the Internet and, even though we haven't had one problem with PayPal, the following alternates might be preferred.

2. By Cheque, Postal Order or Money Order. Please make your donation payable to The Brian Jones Fan Club (or BJFC) and mail it to the Fan Club address below (please note: any money order or cheque that we receive that's drawn on a bank outside of the UK is subject to bank charges for conversion, currently approximately £7.00 / U.S.$ 12.00.

3. By Western Union. Please ensure that the amount received here is in pounds sterling and quote my name as the receiver with photo id.

All donations, no matter how small or large, will be acknowledged on receipt and all contributions will remain confidential. And, no matter what the amount you send to support our activities, it will be gratefully accepted. A donation, by definition is a non-refundable sum of money but what I propose is that each donation of £20.00 (approximately $36 U.S.) – which could be paid in any increment e.g. £5.00 per week/month or anytime – will be converted to a ‘share' and each person could have as many shares as they wanted. These shares will be worthless until such time as an external income is received. What I mean by this is that I'm entrepreneurial enough to realise that when we are successful and the investigation into Brian's death re-opened and the truth revealed then there is certainly a book to be written, and the revelations that this book might contain would, I believe, make it very successful. A book might generate a film on the truth behind Brian's life and death. If this were to be the case then each share in a proportion or part of any profits generated from these ventures would become a valuable commodity. This is just an idea at this point in time but an offer that I would make in the future, should it become reality, to those who wish to partake.

Thank you for your time valuable time in reading the above and if I can offer any more information please don't hesitate to contact me at editorbjfc@aol.com
