Cheltenham Cemetery and Crematorium
Cheltenham Cemetery and Crematorium (telephone:
01242 244245)
Brian is interred in grave section V / 11393
1½ miles to the north east of Cheltenham lies the
small suburb of Prestbury – Cheltenham Cemetery and Crematorium is
located in this area and accessed from Bouncers Lane. Arriving by train,
we suggest you take a taxi from the railway station to the cemetery
(approximately 3 miles). Flowers can be purchased at the entrance to the
cemetery during normal working hours, we believe 7 days a week.
Driving from London, you normally arrive via the
A40. When entering Cheltenham on the A40 look out for a major four-way
intersection controlled by traffic lights. Turn right into HALES ROAD
and then, at the intersection of Hewlett Road and Harps Hill continue
straight on into PRIORS ROAD. At the V junction (approximately ½ mile)
take the right turn into BOUNCERS LANE, the cemetery gates are
approximately 50 yards (45 metres) on the right.
Turn right into the cemetery and follow the road
around to the left, at the second V junction bear right (the first
junction is no entry, being part of the one-way system). Follow the road
around to the right to the second 4 way intersection. On the left you’ll
see a large oak tree with a bench beneath it. Turn right here and then
left into the car park. Walking back to the bench you’ll find Brian’s
resting place opposite. Approximately 30 yards (27 metres) behind
Brian’s grave (almost in a straight line from the bench through his
grave) rests his sister Pamela.
