When is a tribute band not a tribute band?
Hardly ever - but one is in something of a quandary when
confronted by The Railing Stains, a raunchy bunch of lads from
Brighton, England.
Bob Ward, lead singer with the energy of
Mick Jagger explains, "I don't consider that we're a tribute
band, I describe us as a cover band with attitude!! We're a rock
band who perform roughly 25% Stones material during an average
gig. The rest is hard-driven rock'n'roll with material from
various sources, including numbers written by ourselves. It's
just that we believe the Rolling Stones are the best rock band
in the world and I guess that's why we dedicate such a large
portion of our act to the Stones". The Railing Stains have been
extremely busy over the past few years performing in England and
throughout Europe to sell out audiences. Last year, Jesse Wood
(Ronnie's talented son) joined the band for a while and
accompanies the band on their second album produced by the
legendary record producer Charlie Skarbeck. Find more facts on
the band at their website

Bob has been a lifelong admirer of Brian
Jones and as such we are pleased to say that he's become a fully
paid up member of the Brian Jones Fan Club and has expressed his
desire to help raise funds to support the Brian Jones Memorial
Fund.
The Railing Stains have recently recorded
an album entitled '2000 Light Years From Home - A Tribute To
Brian Jones'. The band invited Pat Andrews to the recording
studios and she sang backing vocals alongside Hayley Sinclair
and Laura Windle. The Stains versions of 'Sympathy For The
Devil', 'Midnight Rambler', '2000 Light Years From Home' and
'Ruby Tuesday' were chosen for the tribute CD and each track has
received exceptional reviews.
'Ruby Tuesday' especially, captures the alternate essence of that 60's era when the Stones were playing venues all around the world rockin' and rolling with their more
usual raw, raunchy style.
